Last Snow

The last snow has fallen yesterday. It was wonderful to walk in this fresh fallen snow. Knowing that the next few days or maybe weeks the weather will change and it will thaw and melt. Today it's a lot warmer in Holland and the snow is almost gone. This new warm fake furry coat isn't necessary anymore. So yesterday was the perfect day to wear and photograph it.

Yesterday I had an amazing and cold day in my beautiful city Amsterdam. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the city so much. We went to the Albert Cuyp market and just walk around. This market is in Amsterdam Old South (The Pijp). Here you can find the real Amsterdam ambiance and geniality. After walking a while we had to thaw, because it was so cold. So we went to this cute authentic café (The Schaapskooi). We drunk some hot chocolat and ate a meatball with bread (Broodje bal!). I've never ordered this before, but it was delicious. After lunch we went to the PC Hooftstraat by foot. Watching some expensive shops and cars and we were almost frozen again. At least and warm we went to the cinema and watch this new Dutch movie (Süskind), which I can really recommend!

Frozen Toes

I just had a wonderful morning! A lot of Dutch people will call me crazy, but I love winter and snow. Just walking around in a white surreal world. The nature is so amazing. It does weird and beautiful things with nature when it's freezing and/or snowing. This morning I was an early bird, so I had to go outside with my dear Canon 1000d, walking around and take pictures. My fingers and toes were almost frozen, but it doesn't matter. I think I've shot some great pictures that shows that snow is fun(ny) and beautiful.

I was looking for some tough winter boots for a while. Now I finally found the perfect ones. When I wear them this song is in my head: 'Hey I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything is right'. (Paolo Nutini - New Shoes) Not so surprising, because these shoes are from the brand No Stress. They are comfortable and will bring me everywhere I want to go. Just let it snow, because I have the perfect boots for it!

Catrice nailpolish is really my favorite. It has a long lasting and there are amazing colors. Last weekend I bought three new ones. I think these colors are perfect for winter. I have posted no blogs this week, because I was a little busy. Next week there will be also little or no posts. This weekend I celebrate Christmas with my and my boyfriends family and Tuesday I'm going to Paris for a few days. Next weekend I celebrate New Years eve with friends at my boyfriends place. So a busy, but very great week is coming for me.

I tought to myself that I had an old vintage blazer I don't wear. So let's make a sleeveless blazer! Soon I will post an outfit wearing this blazer without sleeves.

A beautiful sky with sunlight today. I can be really intrigued by the sky. How it change and move. The sun also makes a real spectacle of it. Today the sun was reflected on a building what created a nice effect. The second photo shows a beautiful sunset with beautiful clouds. By making the picture a little darker the sun is more stunning and notable.

I am soooo happy, because I finally bought the heels that I wanted for a long long long time. A year and half ago I saw these ankle boots at Tango, but I couldn't afford them. I've fit them often, but they were too expensive. Today I went to Tango again and there were my boots, in SALE! There was a pair in my size, the last one. So I finally got my favorite shoes! Definitely My lucky day.

Since I started working at Bestseller, I already bought four new denim shorts. I love wearing (denim) shorts! They are so easy to combine. With some tough boots for a tough look and with heels for a feminine look. The first blue denim one is high waisted, just like the last grey one. The second blue denim is a little baggy and the dark grey/black one has a normal fit.

Today I went to the famous flea market; IJhallen in Amsterdam-North. I love that market. The atmosphere and location are amazing. In the summer the market is outside and when it's cold it's inside in an old pilot. This pilot (and yard) were used for building ships. It's really amazing. On the flea market are more than 500 stalls. So there is a lot of stuff. Of course I had my camera with me. It's a perfect place to photograph. Because the market is in north you can go by ferry (and also by bus). Last time I took the bus, but today I thought it would be nice to take the ferry. It was definitely a good choice. The ferry is free and fast. Eventually I didn't find a lot of things on the market, but I had a good time. Tomorrow I will show you my purchases.

Some pictures that reminds me that autumn can be beautiful. The perfect autumn day for me is when the sun is shining, the sky is clear blue and the leaves have amazing colors. I love nature and especially during autumn.

I found leaves that still are green, but almost turning into red/brown, the last yellow flower,

a big red with white dots mushroom, amazing little mustard yellow leaves and shadows of leaves on the tree trunk. This was the perfect day for photographing for me!

Hard Work Life

Today I will tell you more about my new job. Three weeks ago I graduated from the study Textiles and Engineering and two weeks ago I found a fulltime job. I have to say it's a little heavy from being a fulltime student with plenty of time to a hard working life. But I can not complain. I love the company where I work. This fashion company, BESTSELLER, is Danish and has several brands like; Vero Moda, Only, Pieces, Vila, Selected Femme/Homme, Jack & Jones and more.

My function is hostess. This means when there are collection periods for the brands I go to the customers, who come buying, in the showrooms and give them something to drink and to eat. I had a lot of jobs in the catering industry, which I love, so it's not hard for me. Fashion is still my number one passion, but it's nice to combine these two industries. I really want to grow in the company, so I help wherever I can. That way I can learn the company, the culture and structure and the people. Besides to that I can watch and learn and find out which position I would occupy.

Another nice thing of my new job and this company is the sample shop! A part of the samples goes to this little store and we can shop there every Friday. I've already bought some things that you can see in my last post. The clothes from the brands; Only, Vila and Vero Moda are from the sample shop.

Last Saturday I did some sightseeing in Amsterdam. I already show you my pictures of the exposition of Mart Visser in the Nieuwe Kerk. Today I will show you my other pictures of the Dam, Paleis op de Dam (Royal Palace), Rijksmuseum, Museumplein (Museum Square), PC Hooftstraat, Vondelpark and more..

Wedding Bells?

In the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam is an exposition from the Dutch designer Mart Visser. The exposition is about wedding dresses by famous and amazing Dutch designers. Today I went to this exposition and I was very surprised. There were some amazing dresses! I will show you some pictures and my two favorite wedding dresses.

My first favorite dress is made by Leonie Smelt. The top is made out of leather and the skirt is silk. I love the shape and the futuristic view of Leonie. It's innovative and amazing.

The second dress I love is from Pauline van Dongen. This dress is also made out of leather and silk. The vision of Pauline is landscapes and tells a story about the forces of wind and water. I love it when a designer has a clear vision in a collection.

Parental Home

I'm at my parental home for a few days. Now that I've finished my thesis I have a lot of spare time. My mother is free from work today and tomorrow, so I keep her company. Today we went for a ride with her car. I got my driver's license for a week, so I was the driver today. Very exciting! But we're still alive. Tomorrow I will drive again.

Here a picture with my new polka dotted blouse. This is definitely my new favorite piece. This picture is made by my sweet mother in my parents backyard. I love being here. It's so quiet compared to Amsterdam. But after a few days in my quiet hometown I miss Amsterdam, so tomorrow I go back to my own house.

Beautiful Sunset

This evening there was another beautiful sunset. Not that beautiful as the other night, but worthwhile to photograph. Since I moved in to this tiny cozy room on the 8th floor I can see amazing sunsets every evening. I can not just sit there and watch. I have to pick my camera and make pictures from the balcony. It has already yielded many beautiful pictures and I just want to share them with you. So here's another one.

Look what I had for dinner this evening. Delicious courgette soup made by myself. It's so easy and quick to make and it's also very healthy. I love soup, I do! I often add some prawns to it. Oh I love prawns too! Warm garlic bread makes this dish complete.
